What is the difference between storage and archiving?

When a document is signed with Yousign, you have several choices to keep this document :

  • Storage with Yousign

The documents submitted via our Yousign solution are stored on our servers throughout our collaboration. As a reminder, our servers are hosted in France.

This storage is included in our pricing and is not subject to an additional cost.

In addition, a proof file is generated for each signature. It is archived by us for 10 years within CDC Arkhinéo, a 100% subsidiary of the Caisse des Dépôts et des Consignations. This proof file contains all the information required to replay a signature.

The archiving of the proof file is included in the price of our service.

  • Archiving with DCC Arkhineo

As an option, Yousign offers a legal electronic archiving service through its partner CDC Arkhinéo, a 100% subsidiary of the Caisse des Dépôts et des Consignations.

During the retention period of the Archives (ten years per Archive from the date of archiving, and unless otherwise stipulated), you can securely access the Archives via the Yousign API or via the Yousign APP.

Archiving is renewable in 10-year increments.

  • Storage on your information system

In addition to storage by Yousign and possibly archiving by CDC Arkhinéo, you can also store the signed documents on your own servers if you have them. This allows you to access to your documents in non-connected mode ("offline").
